# Getting Started

> Connect 1Tx to your AI client in one line, sign in, and ask

## What the MCP gives your agent

The 1Tx MCP server puts every lending market we list (Aave, Morpho, Euler, Compound V3, Fluid and
more, on Arbitrum, Base, Unichain and Monad) in front of your AI client. Your agent can compare
them, measure a few portfolio splits side by side, and build the deposit, withdrawal, bridge or
levered loop you decide on. You approve every batch yourself, from your 1Tx non-custodial wallet.

| - | - |
| **Server URL** | `https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp` |
| **Transport** | Streamable HTTP |
| **Authentication** | OAuth 2.1 sign-in (Google or email), required |
| **Wallet** | Your 1Tx non-custodial wallet, created the first time you sign in |

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the server">
    Pick your client below and add `https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Your client opens the 1Tx sign-in page. Log in with Google or email and click **Allow**. The
    first time, this creates your 1Tx non-custodial wallet. See [Your wallet](/mcp/your-wallet).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Ask">
    Start with one of the [prompts below](#try-these-first), or run the built-in `start` prompt.
  </Step>

## Connect a client

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude Code">
    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http 1tx https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp
    ```

    Then, inside Claude Code, run `/mcp`, select **1tx** and choose **Authenticate**. Your browser
    opens the sign-in page.

    <Warning>
      Keep the `/mcp` dialog open until you have clicked **Allow** in the browser. Closing it stops
      the local listener that receives the login, and Claude Code reports "Authentication was
      cancelled".
    </Warning>
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Claude">
    Works in claude.ai and Claude Desktop.

    1. Open **Settings → Connectors** and click **Add custom connector**.
    2. Name it `1Tx` and paste `https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp` as the URL.
    3. Click **Connect** and sign in.

    Enable the connector in a conversation from the tools menu.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="ChatGPT">
    Custom connectors need developer mode.

    1. Open **Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings** and turn on **Developer mode**.
    2. Back in **Apps & Connectors**, click **Create**.
    3. Name it `1Tx`, paste `https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp`, and choose **OAuth** as the authentication.
    4. Click **Create** and sign in.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Cursor">
    Add the server to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (all projects) or `.cursor/mcp.json` (one project):

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "1tx": {
          "url": "https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```

    Or install it in one click:
    [Add to Cursor](cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=1tx\&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL21jcC4xdHguZmkvbWNwIn0=).

    In **Settings → MCP**, the server shows **Needs login**. Click it to sign in.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="VS Code">
    ```bash theme={null}
    code --add-mcp '{"name":"1tx","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp"}'
    ```

    Start the server from the MCP view or `.vscode/mcp.json`. VS Code asks to sign in the first
    time a tool runs.
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Codex">
    ```bash theme={null}
    codex mcp add 1tx --url https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp
    codex mcp login 1tx
    ```

    Or add it to `~/.codex/config.toml` and run `codex mcp login 1tx`:

    ```toml theme={null}
    [mcp_servers.1tx]
    url = "https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp"
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Other">
    Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth works:

    | | |
    | - | - |
    | URL | `https://mcp.1tx.fi/mcp` |
    | Transport | Streamable HTTP (no SSE stream: `GET` returns `405`) |
    | Auth | OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (`S256`) and dynamic client registration |
    | Scopes | `read trade` |

    A request without a token gets a `401` whose `WWW-Authenticate` header points to the
    discovery document. See [connection details](/mcp/troubleshooting#connection-details).
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

## Try these first

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Find a market">
    * "What are the best USDC lending markets on Base right now? Rank them by how stable the yield
      has been, not the headline APY."
    * "Compare Morpho and Aave for USDC on Arbitrum over the last 30 days."
    * "Which loops can I open with wstETH as collateral?"
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Build a portfolio">
    * "I have 2,000 USDC. Show me a few ways to split it, with at most 40% in any one protocol."
    * "Is putting everything in one vault better or worse than spreading it across three?"
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Act">
    * "Deposit 500 USDC into the top Base market you just showed me."
    * "Withdraw everything from my Fluid position back to USDC."
    * "Move 100 USDC from Base to Arbitrum, then deposit it into the best Arbitrum market."
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Check on it">
    * "What's my wallet worth, and where is it?"
    * "What would it cost to rebalance my book to 50/50 between my two largest positions?"
    * "Show my history and the gas I've paid."
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

Every action comes back as a link to the approval page. Nothing moves until you approve it there.

## Built-in prompts

Clients that show MCP prompts (often as slash commands) list two:

| Prompt | What it does |
| - | - |
| `start` | What 1Tx does, then helps you choose one market or a portfolio |
| `build-portfolio` | Takes your amount and any limits, measures a few candidate splits side by side, and builds the moves for the one you pick |
